And Your Name Is?

First off, I would like to begin by saying hello, my name is Chelsea Paige. What? You say you have never heard of me? That's crazy and also could be because I’m not famous in any way. Now you may be wondering, “Then why am I reading a blog about your life?” This is a great question. To be honest, I don’t know why you are. I just decided that I had things I wanted to say, and what better time to say them than in the age of everyone oversharing their thoughts online.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love reading things written by famous and non-famous people. In fact, I have read more than I’d like to admit. It can be very uplifting to hear how someone became an actor, a human rights activist, a charity director, a political presence, or (my personal favourite) a #YouTube star! To discover how they started from nothing and worked their way to the top has the tendency to really motivate a person; however, it's not very likely you are going to read their memoir and suddenly become wildly successful as well. I know this from experience; I have attempted to imitate many different celebrities, but just dying your hair to look like theirs isn’t going to cut it. And no matter how many times you read #MindyKaling’s books, chances are you will not go back in time and become a beautiful Indian Rockstar who can have a "fashion show at lunch" (Shout out to #TheOffice). So, this is why I thought it would be interesting to write while I'm ON the journey to success instead of AFTER, since for me success may never come. I know, I know, I’m writing about something that doesn’t guarantee a perfect ending, but I refuse to let this fact ruin my idea much like the movie adaptation of Our Town ruined the play. I'm sorry, but Emily is dead and no final shot of her waking up from a dream in a black and white movie is going to change that.
All of this is to say, I think it’s time for someone to be open and honest about their path, not knowing if anything will come from it, and instead of sitting around and waiting for someone else to do it, I am going to give it a try. So once again, I want to thank you for reading my musings, or for even attempting to read them (let’s be real, I’m not convinced anyone will read this in its entirety except maybe a few of my family members, who will then probably disown me.) And while I cannot guarantee I will become a huge success, I can guarantee this blog will be filled with embarrassing, exciting, and crazy stories about an average girl pursuing a career as an actress/writer because I am sure you haven’t heard enough of that story line from movies and TV already. So… let's get started!
